Terms of use

These terms explain the use of Hamster Home and its information website. Please read them alongside our privacy policy and the terms of the store you use.

Your agreement with us

These terms apply to the Hamster Home app, this website and related services operated by ObscuraCode Ltd, London, United Kingdom. Contact legal@codeobscura.com about these terms or support@codeobscura.com for help.

By using the services, you agree to these terms. If you cannot legally enter this agreement, your parent or guardian must review and agree on your behalf. A parent or guardian must authorize purchases made by a child and any consent that the child cannot legally give. Applicable age requirements and store restrictions also apply.

Development and availability

Hamster Home is in development. This website is an information and support site; it does not provide the playable game. Test-build features may change, be unavailable or behave differently from a future release.

Website artwork is an illustration, not a screenshot or promise of a particular feature. Release dates, supported platforms, prices and purchase contents are confirmed only when explicitly announced or shown in the applicable store or app.

We may update services for functionality, security, compatibility or other reasonable purposes. Where a change materially affects paid access, we will provide any notice and remedies required by law. We do not promise continuous availability or that every device or future operating-system version will be supported.

Your permission to use the services

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive permission to use the app and website for their intended purposes, subject to these terms and any applicable app-store license. Software, artwork, branding and other materials remain the property of ObscuraCode Ltd or their respective licensors.

Do not exploit service vulnerabilities, interfere with other users, automate fraudulent rewards, resell access, reproduce protected artwork for commercial use or reverse engineer the services except where applicable law permits it.

Photos and other material you choose

You retain rights in your own photos. Only choose images you own or have permission to use, including permission from people pictured where appropriate. Selected photos are processed locally for the feature you choose, as explained in the Privacy policy.

These terms do not give us permission to use your photos in advertising. Do not use photo features to create unlawful or abusive material. The game’s illustrations and activities are entertainment, not advice about caring for a real animal.

Optional accounts and saved progress

Core play uses local progress. Keep your device and any backup secure. Removing the app, clearing storage or losing a device can remove local progress and photo-derived content. A linked wallet account, where supported, recovers the online wallet and eligible associated items; it is not a promise to restore every local room, pet or image.

If you create an optional account, provide an email address you can access and keep your credentials secure. Do not share an account to obtain duplicate purchases or rewards. See Delete an account or data if you want to close it.

In-app purchases and paid access

Where purchases are available, the app and store show the price, currency, contents and any conditions before you confirm. Apple or Google processes payment under its own billing terms. This website does not take payment or sell game currency.

A lifetime offer, if made available, is a one-time unlock of the features described at purchase without a recurring subscription fee. It does not promise every future feature or perpetual operation of an online service. The final offer and price are not announced on this website.

Eligible non-consumable access can be restored through the app using the store account that made the purchase. Consumable currency is handled separately from a non-consumable unlock; a store restore button does not necessarily replenish spent currency. Supported online-wallet recovery requires the linked account.

We do not offer a subscription on this website or announce an automatic-renewal product here. If a subscription is introduced, its billing period, renewal and cancellation terms must be shown before purchase.

Virtual currency, items and rewards

Game currency, decorations and other virtual items are licensed for use within the app. They are not legal tender, have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred outside the app unless a specific supported feature says otherwise.

The amount and contents of a paid product must be shown before purchase. Earned rewards may depend on completing the stated activity. If mission rewards have variable contents, the applicable explanation must be available before the activity or claim. This website offers no paid random-reward product.

We may correct duplicate credits, invalid purchases, refunded transactions or balances affected by fraud. We will honor applicable consumer rights and any required remedies.

Advertising and rewarded ads

Free app builds may display ads where enabled. A rewarded ad must be chosen by you, with the reward explained before it starts. Ads and rewards depend on availability, valid completion and provider confirmation. An unavailable ad should not prevent core local play.

Any ad-free purchase removes only the advertising described in that offer. It does not automatically disable optional statistics or create ownership of every other product. Ad privacy choices and play-statistics choices are separate. See Ads and purchases and our Privacy policy.

Refunds and consumer rights

For a purchase made through an app store, use that store’s refund process or contact support@codeobscura.com for help finding it. Approval and processing are handled by the store, subject to applicable law. We do not describe every sale as non-refundable or exclude mandatory refund rights.

When a store refunds or revokes a purchase, the corresponding entitlement or unspent virtual currency may be adjusted. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights concerning faulty or misdescribed digital content.

Other services

App stores, hosting, advertising, authentication and analytics providers have their own terms and privacy information. Their use does not remove our responsibility for our app and our processing. External pages are operated by their respective providers.

Apple’s and Google’s applicable store terms and any platform license also apply to downloads and purchases through those stores. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement with ObscuraCode Ltd.

Our responsibility

We provide services with reasonable care and skill and aim to correct faults. We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. The services are for personal use; we do not accept responsibility for business losses arising from commercial use.

Nothing excludes or limits responsibility for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited. Statutory consumer protections remain in place.

Misuse, suspension and changes to terms

We may restrict online services where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats or serious misuse. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact support. Restriction is not intended to remove legal rights concerning a valid purchase.

We may revise these terms for reasonable service or legal changes. The revision date is shown above. Material changes will be communicated where required; they do not remove rights already accrued under an existing purchase.

Applicable law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Consumers may bring claims in the courts available to them under applicable law; these terms do not require you to give up that right.
